Chuck Taft, living in Asheville, NC, is one of Western North Carolina’s hardest working music directors/conductors. A near native of Western North Carolina, Mr. Taft is blessed to have many outlets for his multifaceted talents in music and education. His passion for life and his belief that all can find expression through music is contagious. On any given day, one can find Mr. Taft moving from the classroom to the stage, from the lecturer’s podium to the conductor’s stand, from the teaching studio to the recording studio, from the rehearsal hall to the worship assembly.
He currently serves as Music Director and Conductor for the Haywood Arts Regional Theater, Music Director of BioFlyer Productions, Music Director and Conductor of the Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre, Music Director of the Hendersonville Little Theatre, Director of the Reuter Center Singers – UNC Asheville, Director of the Givens Estates Choir, and Director of Worship at Biltmore United Methodist Church. He also serves as a member of the Friends of the Arts Advancements Council, Western Carolina University. Mr. Taft has served as Music Director, Chorus Master and Conductor for various productions of the Asheville Lyric Opera and has also performed and/or conducted at many area theaters, including Highland Repertory Theater, Mars Hill College, Parkway Playhouse, UNC Asheville, Southern Appalachian Repertory Theater, Asheville Community Theater, BioFlyer Productions, Asheville Arts Center and Western Carolina University. In addition to pursuing his performing arts endeavors, Mr. Taft is the published author of Top Ranked: The Straightforward Guide to Local SEO. Mr. Taft enjoys performing, playing soccer, reading, and relaxing at the piano, but mostly finds inspiration and delight from his talented and loving ten year old daughter, Ceili.
